About MiningOdds
MiningOdds calculates solo mining probability from hashrate, network hashrate, and time.
What it covers
MiningOdds includes seven calculators, plus coin-specific pages for Bitcoin, Monero, Bitcoin Cash, Litecoin, and Dogecoin. All share the formulas documented on the methodology page.
- Solo mining probability calculator — block probability for a given hashrate and time window
- Share odds calculator — expected share timing against network difficulty
- Difficulty calculator — a starting share target for a chosen interval
- Hashrate rental calculator — ROI and probability for a specific rented hashrate
- Required hashrate calculator — the hashrate needed to reach a target probability
- Budget mining calculator — affordable hashrate and probability for a fixed budget
- Mining opportunity calculator — the same budget compared across all five coins
- Hashrate rental marketplaces and pools — a reference list of third-party providers
Supported networks
- Bitcoin (BTC, SHA-256)
- Bitcoin Cash (BCH, SHA-256)
- Monero (XMR, RandomX)
- Litecoin (LTC, Scrypt)
- Dogecoin (DOGE, Scrypt)
How calculations are framed
The main calculators focus on hashrate, block probability, expected time, and expected value under solo mining conditions. Rental scenarios treat expected reward and ROI as statistical averages, while the hashrate rental and budget calculators also show the real binary outcome: either the full block reward or nothing.
Data and methodology
Network hashrate and USD prices are fetched server-side from public data providers. Block time and block reward are fixed protocol constants in the codebase. All formulas are documented on the methodology page, and the live inputs are listed on data sources.
Privacy and access
MiningOdds is free to use. It has no accounts, no sign-up, no cookies, no analytics, and no third-party fonts, scripts, or CDN assets. The only browser storage used by the site is the light or dark theme preference in localStorage. Details are on the privacy policy.
